Aims of the CAB service

To ensure that individuals do not suffer through ignorance of their rights and responsibilities.
To exercise a responsible influence on the development of social policies and services, both locally and nationally.
The aim of Didcot & District CAB

Is to provide a comprehensive service within these objectives, which will be available to both personal and telephone callers at the main Didcot Bureau, Wallingford Extension Bureau and RAF Benson Outreach.

A home visiting service will be provided where resources allow.

Our service is free, independent, impartial and confidential. Or service is available to anyone irrespective of race religious belief, sexual orientation or disability.

The Bureau aims to provide a generalist advice service on all subjects contained within the Citizens Advice information system.

The advice offered shall include:

Assessing the client’s problem
Researching information
Advising clients on options open to them
Discussing the possible consequences of those options
Assisting with the understanding and completion of forms and other documents
Negotiating with third parties
Representation at Benefit Appeals Tribunals when staff are available
Providing a full money advice service
Volunteers

We are always looking for volunteers, we have a variety of roles available, including advice and admin work; full training and support is provided. If you want to make a real difference to your local community, please contact the manager for further details on 08444 111 444 or pop into the Didcot CAB. We are looking for people from a wide variety of backgrounds, no particular experience require.
