Brilliant Didcot
The planning document for Phase 1b(i) of the Great Western Park Development was considered by Didcot Town Council's Planning and Development Committee on 8th September 2010.
The Town Council recommended that the plans be Approved and made the following comments:-
Overall Didcot Town Council welcomes this well designed development. it is particularly pleased with the obvious thought and consideration that has gone in to giving the different areas of the development their own individual character.
Some provision should be made to prevent residents removing or altering the street scene outside their property, such as removing hedges or railings, all of which play a vital part in defining the character of the development. This could be part of a legal agreement enclosed in the deeds.
The temporary path that is to run from the development to Stephen Freeman School should have temporary lighting for safety reasons.
With regards to planting of trees and bushes in the development, the Council would like to see native species only and would also request that it is consulted when deciding where they are to be located.
