Gardener/ Handyperson

Salary: 17,072.00 to £20,661 per annum based on a 37 hour working week:

Hours: 37 hours per week generally from Monday to Friday

Temporary position to 31st December 2018, start as soon as possible

We are seeking to appoint to the role of Gardener/ Handyperson. 

The vacancy is full-time (37 hours) generally from Monday to Friday with some weekend working.  To be successful you will need to be flexible to meet operational needs.  From time to time you may be asked to work on different days, in the evening or at the weekend. 

You will work within a small team of gardeners at the council’s sites across Didcot that include landscaped areas ie parks, sports pitches, play areas, the Town Cemetery and Millennium Wood. The role will involve general basic maintenance, play equipment repairs, grounds maintenance work including pitch marking etc, gate keeping, litter picking, the application of herbicides under COSHH regulations and maintaining a high level of safety within the team.
