176. PROVIDING AND FUNDING A POLICE COMMUNITY SUPPORT OFFICER (PCSO)
A copy of the report provided for the 2nd July 2007 meeting giving the costs and arrangements for providing a PCSO was circulated, along with the latest financial position of the Council. Following discussion,
RESOLVED that Didcot Town Council take the necessary steps to employ a PCSO, funded for the current financial year from code 1271 (Community Safety) £2,000 and up to a maximum of £3,000 from the general reserve.
Clerks Notes:
A meeting is to be arranged with a representative from Thames Valley Police for all members of the Council, with the aim of providing additional information and clarification on the arrangements of the scheme.
The Council had the power to fund the scheme under the Local Government and Rating Act 1997, para 31, Crime Prevention.
The Meeting commenced at 7.30pm and closed at 8.30pm
