43. ELECTION OF CHAIR FOR 2007/2008

There was one nomination for Chair, Capt J Flood.

Upon being put to the vote it was:

RESOLVED that Councillor Capt J Flood be elected Chair for 2007-2008.

44. ELECTION OF VICE-CHAIR FOR 2007/2008

There was one nomination for Vice-Chair, Mr W Service.

Upon being put to the vote it was:

RESOLVED that Councillor Mr W Service be elected Vice-Chair for 2007-2008.

45. APOLOGIES

46. DECLARATIONS OF INTERESTS

Members were reminded to declare any personal or prejudicial interests on any item on the agenda in accordance with the Council’s Code of Conduct. There were no interests declared.

47. MINUTES

RESOLVED that the minutes of the meeting held on 15th January 2007 be approved and signed as a true and correct record.

48. FLEET MEADOW COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION (FMCA) ACCOUNTS

It was reported that the finalisation of the outstanding accounts were being progressed.

Clerk to progress and provide a report for the next meeting.

49. RECRUITMENT AND CONFIRMATION OF APPOINTMENT OF DEPUTY TOWN CLERK

Following the resignation of the current Deputy Town Clerk to take up a post as Town Clerk and a report on the selection process for a replacement,

RESOLVED that the appointment of Mr Stuart Carter as Deputy Town Clerk be confirmed.

The committee asked that their thanks and appreciation be passed on to the outgoing Deputy Town Clerk, Mr Andrew Tubb, for his hard work and effort during his time at Didcot Town Council

50. TOWN CLERKS REPORT

An update was given on staffing, training, the website, members’ training and a tour of the town, the staff handbook and the planned review and introduction of policies.

NOTED

51. EXEMPT INFORMATION – CONFIDENTIAL BUSINESS

Public bodies (Admission to Meetings) Act 1960 section 1 extended by LGA 1972 Section 100.

RESOLVED that in the view of the confidential nature of the business about to be transacted it is in the opinion of this Council and advisable in the public interest that the public and press be temporarily excluded and they are instructed to withdraw.
