371. SOUTH OXFORDSHIRE DISTRICT COUNCIL (SODC) CORE STRATEGY RESPONSE

Councillor Capt J Flood reported that he had completed the online questionnaire on SODC&rsquo s website regarding the Core Strategy and a copy would be provided to all members and placed on the agenda for the next meeting of the Council on the 14th January 2008.

372. SODC CONSULTATION &ndash REFERRAL OF PLANNING APPLICATIONS TO PLANNING COMMITTEE

A letter was circulated detailing a possible change to the procedure of when planning applications are referred to Planning Committee at SODC. It stated that it is proposing to only refer applications to their committee when the Parish Council vote to refuse an application but the planning officer is recommending approval. Under the proposals any application that is approved by a Parish Council but is recommended to be rejected by a planning officer would not be passed to committee for consideration but instead the planning officer&rsquo s decision would be accepted.

It was RESOLVED that the proposed amendment is not supported as this would undermine the role of Parish Council's Planning Committees.
