Members were reminded to declare any personal or prejudicial interests on any item on the agenda in accordance with the Council’s Code of Conduct.

Councillor Mrs E Hards declared a personal and prejudicial interest in Minute 167, planning application 8.4/5193/10 Sutton Courtenay Energy from Waste Incinerator as she had already expressed her opinion on the matter.

RESOLVED that the Minutes of the Meeting held on 12th August 2009 be approved and signed as a true and correct record.

RESOLVED that the following decisions be notified to the appropriate authority in accordance with Standing Order 54, which gives delegated authority to consider and respond to planning applications:

Application 8.4/5193/10, Sutton Courtenay Energy from Waste Incinerator
Amendment:
Energy from waste incinerator (EFW) infrastructure plus that for combined heat and power (CHP), incinerator bottom ash (IBA), processing plant with outside storage area, and air pollution control residue (APCR) treatment and disposal facilities

It was explained that this was an amended plan relating to the visitors centre and to reduce the capacity of the incinerator by 100,000 tonnes per year.

Welcome the reduction in capacity and the associated reduction in traffic movements

It was noted that information had been received from the developer stating that Mr Bernard Barlow whom the development was to be named after was a long standing Didcot resident.

It was also noted that there had been a Town Council policy to name roads after scientists. It was decided to defer making a comment on this request until the next Planning Committee meeting where the policy of road naming would be formally discussed.
