217. Draft south east plan examination in public – preliminary list of matters and participants

A preliminary list of matters and participants to be discussed at the examination in public has been published. The deadline for comments on the list is 28th September 2006.

It was agreed that as Councillors Mrs M Davies, Dr N Hards and the Town Clerk had been involved in preparing the draft response to the South East Plan that they draft a response, if required, to the list of matters and participants.

RESOLVED that due to the timescales involved it is recommended that this Committee be given delegated authority to respond, if required, to the draft list of matters and participants.

218. standing order 40 - vale of white horse mil/6026/4-x

It was reported, in accordance with Standing Order 40, that Councillor Dr N Hards had spoken on behalf of the Council at the Vale of White Horse development control meeting on Monday 4th September 2006.

The application concerned related to land adjacent to The Applecart Milton Heights and had been considered by this Committee on 26th July; a recommendation of refusal was forwarded to the Vale of White Horse due to concerns about the impact of the service area development in respect of traffic and access arrangements within the current infrastructure of the A34/A4130.

Councillor Hards advised the Committee that the application was approved; the land in question is designated in the Vale’s Local Plan for a service area development.
