Application Number: P02/W0848/O Land to west of Didcot, P02/W0849/O; HAR/1774/1-X HAR17774/X Supplementary Statement on Environmental Matters

It was noted that South Oxfordshire District Council had already approved the additional 100 dwellings and a reduction in the provision of affordable housing and as such the Committee had no comments to make relating to the statement.

However, disappointment was expressed over the County Council’s decision not to provide a third primary school and the departure by South Oxfordshire from its Local Plan and Regional Planning Guidance in approving a reduction in the proposed percentage of affordable housing with only 30 of the additional dwellings being affordable, with the possibility of just 8 of those being for social rented purposes.
