SOUTH EAST PLAN – EXAMINATION IN PUBLIC

The statement of case for matter 8E(ii) ‘Central Oxfordshire – Housing and Green Belt’ was tabled, having been circulated to all members of the Council.

It was noted that this Committee had delegated authority to submit the written statements to the South East Plan Examination in Public (Minute 465 refers).

RESOLVED that the draft statement, attached at Appendix A, be submitted to the examination in public.

DIDCOT FIRST – STREET OLYMPIX

It was reported that South Oxfordshire District Council had refused permission for a road closure request relating to the High Street (Orchard Centre) for a Didcot First ‘street olympix’.

It is understood that an application is now to be made to Oxfordshire County Council as the ‘street olympix’ is a sporting event; the event is to be held on a Sunday, as opposed to a Saturday, as previously advised.

DISABLED PERSONS’ PARKING PLACE – CONSULTATION (GREAT WESTERN DRIVE)

The Committee considered a proposal from Oxfordshire County Council for a disabled persons’ parking place at Great Western Drive.

RESOLVED that no objection be raised to the proposed Disabled Persons’ Parking Place at Great Western Drive.

THAMES WATER – UPPER THAMES MAJOR RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT – INVITATION TO COMMENT

It was noted that information had been received from Thames Water relating to the Upper Thames Major

Resource Development and that comments were invited on the proposals on/before the deadline of 3rd March 2007.

RESOLVED that Councillor Dr N Hards draft a response to the Upper Thames Major Resource Development consultation, for consideration at a future meeting of this Committee.
