140. OXFORDSHIRE HIGHWAYS REVIEW OF SPEED LIMITS ON A AND B ROADS IN OXFORDSHIRE
A consultation document was circulated detailing Oxfordshire County Council’s (OCC) plans to alter the speed limits on various roads in the county. The roads in question within Didcot were the A4130 Didcot Northern Perimeter Road which they proposed to reduce to 50 mph, and the B4493 Station Road to A4130 which they proposed reducing to 40 mph. The consultation asked for views on these proposals.
RECOMMENDED that OCC are asked to consider lowering the speed limit on the stretch of A4120 Northern Perimeter Road between Abingdon Road and Avon Way to 40 mph as this borders a residential area and cars regularly exceed the current speed limit.
RECOMMENDED that in line with OCC’s proposal the speed limit for the B4493 Station Road to A4130 is lowered to 40 mph.
