Didcot Town Council was recently successful in its reaccreditation proce
ss for Quality Status. To meet the criteria to be awarded Quality Status, Didcot Town Council had to illustrate that:-
- it was representative of the whole community
- it communicated with its residents
- properly managed and responsible
Some of the many things involved in meeting this criteria include ensuring that at least two thirds of the members are elected, that we have an effective means of informing and consulting in our case this would be the Dynamo and the Town Council’s website, and that the Town Clerk had completed his Certificate in Local Council Administration, a qualification specifically designed specifically for the role.
In gaining reaccreditation Didcot Town Council has become the first in the district and only the second in Oxfordshire to do so.
