John Eldridge Award 2008 - Nominations Wanted!

THE JOHN ELDRIDGE AWARD EVENING will take place on the 18th December 2008 at Didcot Civic Hall.

Didcot Town Council are looking for nominees for this prestigious award. The John Eldridge Award for Voluntary ServiceThe nominees for the John Eldridge Award recognises the immense amount of voluntary work that goes on in Didcot. The aim of the award is to recognise those who give their time freely to do charity work, help a sports team, help a club or society, help people who are less able able to help themselves and in general terms help make Didcot the great town it is. The award is open to both individuals and groups.

Last year's winner was Mrs Marion Fountain (above with the other nominees) who had been involved in the town's Scouting movement since the 1960s.

If you would like to nominate an individual or a group then we will need the following details:

Your name, address, phone number and email.

The name of the nominee, their address and telephone number. If it is a group that you are nominating then we would like all their names.

The type of voluntary service involved.

The reason for the nomination.

Please either post these details to The Town Clerk, Didcot Town Council. Britwell Road, Didcot OX11 7HN or email to townclerk@didcot.gov.uk.

Please note that the deadline for receiving nominations is Monday 1st December 2008.

All those who are short listed for the award along with those who nominated them will be invited to the awards evening on the 18th December 2008.
