Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)
Free of charge Fast Track DBS checks are available for Employees and Volunteers, recruited for the care and treatment of Coronavirus Covid-19.
Responding to COVID-19, the Home Office and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) has put temporary arrangements in place to provide DBS checks and fast-track emergency checks of the Adults' and Children's Barred Lists.
These DBS checks will be free-of-charge to Healthcare and Social Care workers, etc, who are being recruited in connection with the care and treatment of COVID-19 in England and Wales.
These arrangements will provide employers with the option to quickly appoint recruits into regulated activity with adults and/or children, as long as the individuals are not barred, and appropriate measures are put in place to manage the individual until the full DBS check is received.
This fast track service is now available online via Aaron's Department's DBS service
It also contains a full list of the jobs or positions that are eligible for this fast track check.
This is for employees and Volunteers recruited to deal with Coronavirus Covid-19, normal employees must be processed the usual way.
The DBS are unable to issue refunds to applications that have been incorrectly submitted or if the volunteer box hasn't been ticked.
Please note:
These emergency applications MUST be submitted as a volunteer applications to be processed free-of-charge.
