Would you like to be a Councillor?

Would you like to be a Councillor?

As we are nearing the elections period, the Oxfordshire Association of Local Councils is hosting online sessions for people who are interested in the role of a Councillor. This role is open to anyone who is eligible (18+, British national OR citizen of the European Union, registered to vote in the area or have lived, worked, or owned property in the area for at least 12 months). You do not need to be a part of a political party and can run as an independent Councillor.

These sessions are designed to give an overview of the role, as well as the responsibilities that come with it. It would also give you the opportunity to have any questions about the role answered. These sessions are hosted on Zoom and are open for everyone who wishes to apply. There is no prior booking necessary, and the dates and times are advertised as follows:

24th January at 7-8pm

13th February at 10-11am

15th March at 2-3pm.

If you would like to attend any of the meetings, please email council@didcot.gov.uk to obtain the Zoom link, along with the meeting ID and the password. Alternatively, please visit https://www.oalc.org.uk/event-detail/00000000161.

Please be mindful that while these sessions do not require a booking, the spaces might be restricted due to Zoom's limitations, and we would advise to keep all three dates in mind. More meetings might be created should the demand exceed the expected numbers.
