Park Road - Road Closure

Oxfordshire County Council will be undertaking carriageway maintenance including edge strengthening and resurfacing works to Park Road between the junction with Larch Drive in Didcot and the junction with Main Road at West Hagbourne.

The works are programmed to start on Monday 25th September 2023 and are expected to last for up to three weeks, finishing on Friday 13th October, subject to any bad weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances during construction.

Works will include drainage improvements, ironwork adjustments and the reconstruction / resurfacing of the existing carriageway, following which all existing road markings and lines will be reinstated.

Traffic Management

The reconstruction works will be carried out under a full 24hr road closure, with working hours being 07:00-19:00hrs. The road will stay fully closed between working shifts for safety reasons, including the weekends of 30th September & 7th October. A fully signed diversion route will be put in place with traffic being routed via Harwell and West Hagbourne.

Gatemen / Traffic Marshals will be positioned at either end of the site, to redirect traffic and pedestrians to ensure the safety of the public and workforce during working hours. We ask that you give them your full support and heed their advice whether you are a pedestrian, cyclist, or motorist.
