Nominations for the Didcot Town Awards are now closed. Thank you to all those that have submitted nominations, it is lovely to see so much positivity in the community.

Remembrance Parade and Service

The Didcot Remembrance Parade will take place on Sunday 14th November 2021, followed by the service which commences at 3pm at Smallbone Recreation Ground.

The parade leaves Edinburgh Drive car park at approximately 2.40pm to march up The Broadway.

The road from Vicarage Road down to Ernest Road will be closed from 215pm for the duration of the parade and service to ensure space for the parade as it takes... Read More »

Charity Danceathon 2021 with Play2Give and Angels Performing Arts: Sunday 12th September from 2 pm to 5 pm.

Competitors will be dancing, spinning, twirling the light fantastic, busting out the moves, shaking their hips and booties, to raise money for Play2Give (which raises money for local charities including the Oxford Children's Hospital) and the Angels' Off the Street charity to provide scholarships... Winner Hasnath Miah and Councillor Eleanor Hards stood outside holding the award and certificate

Last year Hasnath Miah won the COVID Hero Award at the Didcot Town Awards.

Hasnath Miah has won this special award for all the help he has given to the community during the COVID-19 pandemic. Hasnath runs local Indian restaurant Indian Dream and since the beginning of lockdown has been helping feed NHS staff, key workers, people struggling with income, and many more.

Didcot Town Awards - Nominations Now Open!

Last year Ady Crook won the Unsung Hero Award at the Didcot Town Awards.

Ady Crook was nominated for raising money for a local child, Yasmin who was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her left femur in February 2020, just 9 years of age at the time. Ady also raised money for the ward she was treated in at the Oxford Children's Hospital.

Last year Rachel and Steve Hunter won the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Didcot Town Awards.

Rachel and Steve Hunter have been volunteering at 23rd Scouts for 20 years, teaching kids vital skills and taking them on treks and camps in all weather.

Robin McStay is the leader for Didcot Health Walks, which runs twice a week plus social events for the walking group too.
