Although we cannot show our support for Armed Forces this weekend the way we have in previous years, there are still ways to support Remembrance Day whilst adhering to lockdown guidelines.

A service was held at Didcot's War Memorial, Smallbone Recreation Ground, on Saturday, 15th August 2020 at 11.00 hrs to pay tribute to those who fought in the Far East which brought an end to World War Two. The event is usually held at the Civic Hall but due to socializing restrictions no date has been set yet - we may even hold the night remotely this year! But we are still looking for your nominations.

VE Day Commemorations
On Friday the residents of Didcot joined with the rest of the country to mark the 75th anniversary of Victory in Europe (VE) Day.

The British Army is opening a new Covid-19 testing centre at Didcot Town Council / Civic Hall car park from Monday, 11th of May. For that reason, our car park will be closed to the public from today 8PM until further notice.
Only council, NHS and army staff are allowed to use the Civic Hall premises during this time with ID card and all safety equipment.

After the Didcot Town Council's Covid-19 Crisis Management meeting on Monday 30th March 2020, the updates are as follows:
- DTC and Civic Hall to remain closed until at least 30th April 2020.

After the meeting of the Council's COVID-19 Crisis Management Team, we have decided that Didcot Town Council and Civic Hall will remain CLOSED until 30th April 2020, when we will review the policy based on Government advice and guidelines.

Monday 16th March 2020 marked the official opening of the new and improved Smallbone Recreation Ground play area. It was opened by the Mayor of Didcot, Cllr Anthony Dearlove.
We thank FCC Communities Foundation for their generous grant of £50,000 towards the refurbishment.
The Leader of the Town Council Cllr Mocky Khan and Cllr Pam Siggers were also at the opening.
